Stihl GTA 40 Cordless Pruner Set
Discover precision, power, and performance with the Stihl GTA 40 Cordless Pruner Set. It is the first dedicated battery-powered pruner from Stihl designed specifically for professional tree and shrub care. The GTA 40 is engineered for arborists, landscapers, and horticultural professionals. Thanks to its compact design and strong cutting performance, it works well for both ground-level and aerial tasks*.
This complete GTA 40 Set includes 2× AS 2 lithium-ion batteries, an AL 5-2 high-speed dual charger, a 15 cm (6”) guide bar, and a hardcase for easy storage and transport.
Professional Power and Performance
The GTA 40 uses two AS 2 batteries working in parallel. As a result, it delivers long run times and consistent power output. A powerful EC motor and a 1/4” PM3 saw chain combine to produce clean, controlled cuts through dense branches. In addition, the variable chain speed control gives you precise command over cutting performance. Automatic chain lubrication and a side-mounted tensioning system also make daily maintenance quick and simple.
The tool-free chain oil tank is built for efficiency. It offers enough capacity to support up to six AS 2 batteries before refilling.
Comfort, Control, and Safety
The Stihl GTA 40 is designed for balance and ergonomics. It features a soft, rubberised handle and an upper grip that improve comfort during operation. Moreover, the claw-shaped deflector separates the grip area from the cutting attachment, which enhances safety.
This model is intended for two-handed use. It can be operated by both right- and left-handed users, since it has dual rocker switches on each side. An integrated attachment ring also allows the GTA 40 to clip securely to a belt, making it convenient for work on the ground or at height.
Durable and Weather-Resistant Design
The GTA 40 and AS 2 batteries are certified to the IPX4 protection class. Therefore, they are splashproof and suitable for demanding outdoor conditions. The included hardcase provides safe transport, with dedicated storage for up to six AS 2 batteries and the AL 5-2 dual charger.
Fast Charging and Long Runtime
With the AL 5-2 high-speed charger, both AS 2 batteries recharge fully in just 50 minutes. Consequently, downtime is kept to a minimum. On a full charge, the GTA 40 can complete up to 240 cuts through 5 cm branches and delivers up to 50 minutes of cutting time.
