Terms & Conditions

3 year contracts will have new machines at the start of the contract, under 3 years the machine may not be new.

Contract Hire- Self Maintenance

We expected the operator of the machinery to carry out the following checks:

a) Oil and water levels to be checked and topped-up where appropriate.

b) Grass/radiator screens to be checked and cleaned on an hourly basis, sooner if required to prevent overheating of the engine.

c) Radiator fins to be blown out with an airline and NOT pressure washed.

d) The machine must be greased to the manufactures specifications.

We offer a replacement for tractors and mowers, if the breakdown is for 48 hours or more, we will endeavour to ensure the replacement is an exact model as the machine off the road but we can not guarantee it. Tyre damage and punctures are NOT included in the operating costs and will be charged as an additional cost.

We will not accept under any circumstances:

a) Any financial penalties incurred due to late return of repaired machinery due to circumstances beyond our control (ie. the late supply of parts, etc.)

b) Any financial charges for personnel (other than our own who carry out the repairs) Unless a written order, with agreed charges, is issued by ourselves.

All machinery must be returned at the end of the hire period in good working order, any excess wear, tear or damage will be charged for in full, ie. worn out tyres, splits in seat covers, cracks in bodywork etc.With the exception of local Authorities, all contact hire must be paid for by monthly standing orders via the bank. If the contract is terminated earlier than the agreement 50% of the remaining hire will be charged. All insurance cover for the vehicle (theft etc.) is liable to the hirer.

Contract Hire – Full Maintenance

1) We do not offer a 24/7 service, we only carry out servicing/repairs during normal working hours, which includes Saturday mornings, wherever possible.

2) Repairs and servicing will be carried out on-site, wherever possible.

3) We expect the operator of the machine to carry out the following daily checks:

a) Oil and water levels to be checked and topped-up where appropriate.

b) Grass/radiator screens to be checked and cleaned on an hourly basis, sooner if required to prevent overheating of the engine.

c) Radiator fins to be blown out with an airline and NOT pressure washed.

d) The machine must be greased to the manufactures specifications.

4) On rotary mowers, one set of replacement blades will be supplied per season (preferably at winter overhaul),any extra blades supplied will be charged for.

5) On cylinder movers, we would expect to replace one set of bottom blades during the season and another during its winter overhaul. We would expect to replace the cylinders only at the winter overhaul. Any further bottom blades or cylinder replacements will be charged for.

6) We offer a replacement for tractors and mowers, if a breakdown is for 48 hours or more, we will endeavour to ensure the replacement is an exact model as the machine off the road but can not guarantee it.

7) On all other machinery, excluding mowers, additional blade replacement or sharpening will be charged as an additional cost.

8) On all mowers and implements, drive belts are expected to last at least one season, replacement of drive belts before the twelve months will be deemed to be due to misuse and abuse of the machine and will therefore be charged for.

9) Tyre damage and punctures are NOT included in the operating costs and will be charged as an additional cost.

10) Full training can be given to the operator and a Certificate of Attendance can be issued if required.

11) We will not accept under any circumstances:

16) Hire charges are based on a maximum annual machine usage of 1000 hours, any additional hours will be charged at extra cost.

Short Term Hire

A) All prices quoted for implements include a tractor unit, where specified. Discount will be given for implement hire only. Please bear in mind you may require a different length of PTO shaft (at extra cost).

B) Collection and delivery of machines is subject to a £80.00+ VAT charge.

C) It is the hirer’s responsibility to insure against damage, loss, theft & public damage.

D) Normal wear and tear of equipment is acceptable, but any damage will be charged in full.

E) Equipment will be delivered in a clean and tidy condition. A cleaning charge of £15.00+ VAT will apply if the equipment is returned in unacceptable condition.

F) No discount is given for unused time due to foul weather, poor ground conditions or public holidays.

G) All oil and water levels (where applicable) must be checked on a daily basis. On grass cutting machines the grass screen to the radiator must be cleaned on an hourly basis.

H) Where applicable, machines are supplied with a set of tines, any additional tines will be chargeable.

J) Payment is due within 10 days of the date of the invoice. Invoices will be issued after each 5 day hire period.

K) Early termination of agreed hire will result in the customer being invoiced for 50 % of remaining hire.

Additional Charges

  • Damage due to misuse or abuse.
  • Additional tines, blades or brushes if required on applicable machines.
  • Cleaning charge if the machine is returned in an unacceptable condition.

Sale of Hire Machinery

We are often asked about selling our hire machinery, the answer is we will sell any machine at any time. If you are looking for a 6 month old tractor, a 1 year old woodchipper or a 4 year old verti-drain, please contact your local branch sales manager who will be happy to give you a quote.
